The real cost
Do the arithmetic they won't do for you.
Fee pages list line items. Brochures show highest packages. Neither does the calculation that actually matters: total four-year cost of attendance against the MEDIAN outcome for your programme. The calculator below uses only numbers YOU enter — we don't know your programme's fees, and we won't invent them.
Your numbers, your arithmetic
Enter what the fee page actually says (capture it with a dated screenshot — fee pages change quietly) and what outcome you're realistically betting on. Nothing here is prefilled with claims we can't source.
▸ Enter the real figures from the fee page to see the total. The empty state is the point: this arithmetic is never done for you.
This tool performs arithmetic on numbers you provide; it makes no claim about any institute's actual fees or outcomes. For contrast: the institute publishes a highest package but not a median one — which is precisely why this calculation has to be done by you, the buyer.
The fee page rarely itemises
Tuition is the visible part. Before you sign, get written answers to every line below — each one is a real cost a student actually pays:
- 01One-time admission / registration / caution deposit — refundable or not?
- 02Hostel + mess + laundry, and whether mess is mandatory
- 03Annual fee-hike clause: is the jump fixed, CPI-linked, or “as decided”?
- 04Exam / re-evaluation / repeat-course charges
- 05Lab, library, training & placement cell fees (yes, they exist)
- 06Transport charges if you're a day scholar
- 07Cost of mandatory laptops, kits, uniforms, or industry certifications
- 08Exactly what happens to your money if you leave after semester one
Get every answer in writing — email, not phone. “The fee structure is the same for everyone” is not an answer to “what is the total”.
Evidence slot — awaiting sourcing
[SOURCE NEEDED] Actual programme-wise fee figures, transcribed from nshm.com/admissions/course-eligibility-fee-structure ↗ with the capture date. Until a dated capture is added, this section deliberately shows no numbers. Fee claims without a dated source are exactly the kind of thing this site exists to oppose.
